Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in their 3rd or 4th year of a Civil Engineering program with a focus in transportation engineering
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with the following software packages is an asset: Synchro, Adobe Illustrator, and Visual Basic for Applications
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionality (macros, logic) is an asset
- Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation is an asset
- A vehicle with a valid drivers license is an asset

Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Arcadis Ottawa’s transportation team is looking for a motivated individual with a strong interest in transportation engineering as it relates to development planning. The core of this team’s work involves the preparation of Transportation Impact Assessments and Parking Studies in support of development applications to municipalities in eastern Ontario (i.e. Site Plan applications and Plan of Subdivision applications), but there is also the potential to gain exposure to transportation facility design projects such as roads, intersections and light-rail transit projects.
This is a 4-8 month work term beginning in September 2024.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assisting senior engineering staff with the following:
- Traffic Analysis
- Data Analysis
- Technical Research
- Technical Report Writing and Exhibit preparation
- Assistance with Proposal Writing
