SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm with some weekends and holidays plus relief coverage

JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Transportation Lead is responsible for the efficient operation of designated routes and vehicles, to ensure daily delivery of all services to the customer. The philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, the Employee Code of Conduct, goes beyond expectations to satisfy the needs of our customers. Provides relief for driver coverage as needed, guidance to new associates; acts in the capacity of a route Lead, providing direction to staff in support of and in absence of the Department Manager or Supervisor. Performance consistent with guidelines established by the Director of Transportation and the Transportation Management Team will be essential. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  • Provides guidance and training to new associates; acts in the capacity of a route and dispatch Lead, providing direction to staff in support of and in absence of the Department Manager or Supervisor.
  • Performs driver relief duties as requested.
  • Performs monthly reporting duties as requested
  • Responsible for knowing all routes within the logistics department.
  • Resolves employee problems and conflicts and reports conflict with the logistics manager.
  • Responds to employee requests and makes sure their needs are being met.
  • Is able to work with other people to produce high volume, high quality work, in a close setting.
  • Monitors staging area each morning to make sure product gets out for delivery.
  • Reports to Manager if any product is left in staging area.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in Supervisory Role Required
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Delivery Preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, & TRAINING:

  • Must possess the current state license (Missouri - Class A, B, OR E, Illinois Class D, Arkansas Class C, Oklahoma Class D, Kansas Class C).Required
