Transportation & Logistics Specialist
We are looking for a Transportation & Logistics Specialist, to our Packaging Materials Division, a business with approximately 5 billion euros in annual sales. You will report to Dispatch Manager or Team Leader .
About the position
Logistic Planner will be responsible for long term operational planning within the logistic area with the aim of securing capacity and performance within our logistic solutions. In the position as planner, you work with European “perspective” where you can represent more than one mill, terminal within the division.
In this role, you will:
- Book, Dispatch and optimise deliveries based on supply chain accuracy and customer promise, utilising active agreements and awarding, with maximum support of Automatic Load Plan setup
- Provide volume forecasts to suppliers where possible and needed
- Daily follow-up critical deliveries based on A-B-C-D customers
- Monitoring production to secure ex-mill is respected
- Inform all relevant stakeholders in case of delays and possible alternatives
- Active involvement in development of the planning system and utilising the features in the system to the maximum, to enable sufficient time to support, Customer fulfilment, transport suppliers and loading locations.
- Non LSC connected/active, manual waybill handling in order handling system
- Handling Customs related tasks
- Participate in regular follow ups with all stakeholders regarding performance, complaints, deviations and new business (weekly/Monthly/Quarterly)
- Key interface to the responsible department(s) in case of complaints damages, delays, etc.
- Avoid extra costs (spot, idle time) as much as possible by connecting to loading locations/production and suppliers, offer suppliers alternatives to mitigate extra costs as much as possible.
- Safeguard relation to supplier’s booking department. knowledge of the suppliers, understand the SLA’s with customers, monitor performance, support suppliers where possible and warn them for upcoming (potential) problems.
- Loading location Management, follow up expected available (un)loading capacity, act when maximum (un)load capacity is exceeded and discuss with the (un)loading location if this is causing problems and take actions towards colleagues, (un)loading location and transport suppliers, to ensure a smooth as possible loading process.
- Participate in task force setups with Sales and Procurement
About you
Our ideal candidate has:
- Education: BS Logistics in relevant fields
- Strong experience within logistics, planning and data management
- Experience working with Logistics service providers in operational and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and fluent English and Polish
- To be persistent, systematic and drive for results, gets things done
- Comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills
- 2-3 years’ experience in logistics is an advantage
- The necessary maturity to represent our company towards many stakeholders, potential to grow with the company
- Administrative and communicative talent
- Creative in finding solutions to accomplish the best possible result for our customers.
- A team player, proactive, flexible and willing to learn
- Capable to manage stressful situations and tight time tables and pressure
- Good knowledge of MS Office and computer adept in general.
- Readiness’ and willingness to take other needed tasks for short term
- Make independent decisions according to the processes and guidelines
- Have the mandate to make the necessary changes to ensure that the delivery takes place as confirmed
