JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for compliance with Customs Acts and regulations (CBSA/CBP) and interprets local and/or international regulations as they apply to imports, exports, international trade
- Collaboration with other departments within the company, such as Supply chain, finance, taxation, and logistics, to ensure all trade-related activities are compliant.
- Maintaining records and documentation related to trade compliance, such as licenses, permits, and certifications. May also conduct regular audits to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Participates in audits and evaluation current policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance with government laws and regulations.
- Organizes transportation globally in accordance with the Company’s Logistics Routing Guide in order to optimize the solutions in support of business requirements
- Responsible for coordinating and working with the Company’s approved Logistics providers to develop Standard Operating procedures, coordinating shipments (inbound/outbound), ensuring proper Import/Export clearances and associated matters
- Support the Commercial Bid Process through providing Logistics quotes and estimates for transportation of Commercial Jet Engines worldwide
- Make HTS and ECCN determinations as needed. Ensure those classifications are input to business systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post Secondary or College technical degree with background in Logistics, International Trade, Customs/Trade Compliance, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of Logistics/Export /Import compliance experience in managing Logistics, Customs, International trade, Global Trade Compliance functions in Aerospace or Manufacturing industry
- Knowledge or Procurement and Supply Chain processes and Internal Financial Control procedures and processes
- Demonstrated understanding of Canadian & US Export Control Regulations
- Knowledge of Canadian, USA and International Customs(WCO) requirements including Harmonized Tariff classification (US/Canada), NAFTA Certificate of Origin requirements, Tariff treatments/Trade agreements and duty drawback programs
- Knowledge of International Logistics & Freight forwarding requirements, INCOTERMS, arranging and booking shipments with airlines, FTL/LTL service providers, Charter companies (Air/Ground) via designated international freight forwarders to destinations worldwide.
- Trained and familiar with WHIMS, Dangerous Goods Regulations (Transport Canada-Clear TDG regulations, IATA, IMDG) and requirements and certifications in handling Dangerous/Hazardous goods

- Ability to multi-task and manage timelines
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal (English & French)
- Solid background using ERP systems to manage inventory & logistics
- Advanced MS Office (MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and data management skills
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS IN QUEBEC :
Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec
