Title: Active Travel Design Technician
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid: 3 days per week on-site)
Salary: €30 - €35 per hour

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Engineering and Technical teams in Dublin. This role focuses on designing facilities for active travel projects, including walking and cycling infrastructure, bridges, drainage structures, junction design, and other transport systems. As part of the team, you will support the development of active travel schemes from initial options to construction, producing document packages and schematic designs while adhering to project scope, design criteria, codes, standards, and quality control processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience preparing professional plans and contract drawings.
  • Experience with Autodesk design software, such as AutoTrack and KeyLines.
  • Knowledge of design standards, including MRB, DMURS, and the National Cycle Manual, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with general construction practices and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Practical problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans and contract drawings using AutoCAD for active travel projects.
  • Develop schematic designs and document packages in alignment with project requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design facilities such as walking and cycling infrastructure, bridges, and junctions.
  • Apply knowledge of MRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges), DMURS, and the National Cycle Manual in design processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable design codes, standards, and quality control measures.
  • Support the development of active travel schemes from conceptualization to construction.
  • Maintain a collaborative and communicative approach with colleagues and clients.
