Responsibilities:

Specifically, the duties of the post are:
§ Use Amadeus the automated reservations and ticketing systems to secure and confirm airline, hotel, car rental and associated reservations for clients, producing airline tickets, vouchers in line with the RCSI Travel’s cost containment and business allocation policies
§ Maintain necessary controls to provide audit trails and accountability reports as required by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and commercial airlines/ancillary services providers
§ Provide an unparalleled level of customer service to internal and external clients, along with ability to work on the retail and leisure side of the business
§ Assist the Head of Department with the implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure efficient work practices, including continually improving and maintaining in-house data systems
§ Manage client profiles to completion
§ Negotiate the best possible hotel rates nationwide
§ Provide out of hours support as required (specifically participating in emergency 24hr customer service roster)
§ Comply with statutory legislation and RCSI / Department rules and requirements in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety
§ Undergo programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.
§ Represent the best interests of the Department and the College at all times
§ Perform such other duties as may be required
Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):
§ GDS knowledge , Amadeus being preferable
