Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity in our Finance & Accounting (F&A) department. This is a permanent full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Corporate Financial Reporting. The selected candidate will support the F&A team in achieving departmental and organizational goals, support effective cash management in accordance with TCI internal policies, and support accurate internal and external reporting of financial data per GAAP/IFRS.

What You’ll be Doing:

Treasury Management

  • Perform daily cash funding and cash forecasting
  • Prepare short-term deposit proposals for Senior Management approval
  • Complete monthly cash and interest income forecasting and risk management analysis
  • Prepare annual/quarterly budgeting forecast
  • Manage credit facility renewal applications
  • Liaise with and serve as a key TCI contact for banks on various operational issues

Accounting support

  • Perform month-end close activities for cash, fixed assets and other areas where assigned, including preparation of journal entries, data and general ledger account analysis to ensure recording and reporting in accordance with IFRS
  • Reconcile and monitor balance sheet accounts for cash and fixed assets
  • Partner with the fixed asset control groups on new assets and construction-in-progress information to perform quarterly forecasting for depreciation and support Capex mid term/long-term planning
  • Perform financial modelling and provide accounting support for strategic projects

Reporting Support

  • Support the reporting lead in the preparation of stakeholders’ reporting and other external financial reporting
  • Own and support Quarter-end / Year-end audits for cash and fixed assets

Kaizen/Ad-Hoc

  • Identify opportunities to kaizen internal processes to support continuous improvement within the department (develop or enhance working templates, models, and reports)
  • Maintain, create and update standard operating procedures where applicable
  • Participate in ad hoc assignments or special projects as required

What You’ll Bring:

  • University degree or College diploma in Business or Accounting
  • Working towards CPA designation (Designated preferred)
  • 3+ years of financial accounting and analysis experience
  • Previous experience with account reconciliations and analysis
  • Experience with treasury and fixed assets accounting is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated partnership skills and ability to negotiate
  • Proven communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in achieving goals in a timely manner
  • Confidence working independently and in a team environment with all levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated individual, who is customer focused, and enjoys challenges/growth opportunities
  • Ability to initiate & improve work processes to increase efficiencies
  • Working knowledge of ERP system (SAP preferred)
