Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

- Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; respond to customer enquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority; and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
- Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
- Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
- Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and accounts and monitor and adapt sales activities so that these objectives are met.
- Build consultative relationships with municipal end users, consultant engineering firms, and utility contractors to position Xylem solutions to solve customer’s issues and become a permanent influencer on Bid documents.
- Create synergy opportunities for cross-business consultative selling based on an understanding and awareness of the Xylem solution set.
- Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.
- Be alert to competitive products and practices and keep management informed of market conditions, competitive scope and approach, and any trends in the marketplace.

- Work closely with all regional front end long cycle sales team to bring and secure high percentage of success in key opportunities linked to Xylem portfolio.
- Hard work on project from feasibility studies to influence on technical bid documents.
- Early filtering of opportunities to define if pursuing opportunity or not.
