ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Tree and Woodland Strategy and Delivery Manager to support our ambition to increase tree and woodland cover across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES). The role will focus on updating and coordinating delivery of a Tree and Woodland Strategy and Action Plan for the district.
The Tree and Woodland Strategy and Delivery Manager will lead the production of an updated Tree & Woodland Strategy and Action Plan for B&NES Council that agrees a set of targeted priorities and actions to increase tree and woodland cover across the district. This will necessitate working with a range of external stakeholders, such as local charities, businesses, politicians, and town and parish councils; and with other teams within the council.
This post will build our capacity to increase tree and woodland cover across Bath and North East Somerset and to improve the condition of existing woodlands in the district. This will include developing and submitting funding applications for tree and woodland establishment and management; providing internal advice in relation to, e.g., trees and woodland within large scale development allocations; and assisting council officers and external organisations to deliver tree planting projects
The role will report to the Nature Recovery Manager in the Green Infrastructure and Nature Recovery Team, and you will be expected to work collaboratively with our Principal Ecologist, Senior Landscape Architect, Tree Manager and other colleagues within both the GI & Nature Recovery team and the Parks & Green Spaces Team.
