Description:

Overview:
The PIP Trial Attorney will be responsible for analyzing arbitration demands, preparing comprehensive initial file reviews that identify all central and ancillary issues and analyzes those issues, and prepare detailed, comprehensive and thorough arbitration submissions, post arbitration submissions and an analysis of the arbitration award. This is a temporary position that will assist the department’s needs on an ongoing basis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Possesses at least two years relevant PIP arbitration experience.
  • Analyze arbitration demands referred from Claims and prepare action plans and necessary submissions.
  • Interface and develop a rapport with Claims.
  • Conducts EUOs when necessary.
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of all statute, regulations, NCCI edits, Medicare sites etc. necessary to prepare detailed submissions addressing all issues.
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance Law, such as coverage questions, UM and UIM Coverage, No-Fault, etc.
  • Works independently in making decisions in file handling and communicating those decisions to the proper parties.
  • Ability to utilize case management system and Outlook and work in a paperless environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
