Description:
Armour Transportation Systems is currently seeking a Trip Assistant to join our team in Moncton, New Brunswick. The successful candidate will organize, plan, coordinate, and communicate the efficient and effective movement of equipment and freight while providing superior service to our customers.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Dispatch experience and understanding of the TruckMate system are considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to prepare reports in Word and Excel.
- Strong typing and computer skills.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety measures.
- Work in a professional manner with our business partners, terminals, and customers to remove barriers in the movement of equipment and freight.
- Work in conjunction with departments to ensure proper functioning and optimal use of equipment, i.e., asset, chassis asset, avoidance of detention.
- Perform multimodal transit planning.
- Provide effective solutions for operational modes of transit corridors, considering all locations and modes of transit, i.e., road, vessel.
- Provide clear communication with drivers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary paperwork and information to complete their job successfully.
- Work in conjunction with steamship lines, Oceanex, CN, CP tracking of units i.e., left behinds.
- Billing, RV’s creation, etc.
- Communicate opportunities found with applicable departments or terminals, and work with them as a team towards resolutions.
- Manage duty priorities for various transit.
- Respond to any correspondence and voice mails with agreed timelines.
- Attend any pre-planned meetings, training sessions and events (i.e., transition meetings, daily review, safety meetings, and employee events).
- Vacation coverage as required and work with drivers to plan vacation coverage each week and update supervisors on the visibility plan.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the Multimodal Operations Manager, dependent upon business requirements.
