MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, management, or related discipline is required or 3 years of experience with trust banking operations.
  • Must possess the ability to attain, develop, and apply good working knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Excel and Word, ability to meet deadlines, work independently, adapt to changing priorities, good follow through, and attention to detail are required.
  • Incumbent must possess strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Incumbent must have strong written and verbal skills and the ability to translate complex situations into easily understood narratives.
  • The candidate must have the ability to research, interpret and apply compliance regulations for risk management.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibilities of the Trust Compliance Officer are to provide trust compliance and training support to Trust personnel and management.
  • Incumbent must be able to establish training curriculum for all staff.
  • Conducts site visits and inspections of trust offices to ascertain level of compliance with procedures regarding the administration of trust accounts.
  • This position serves as the lead contact person for the Trust offices with regulatory and internal compliance examinations and provides advice on regulatory requirements.
  • Incumbent ensures implementation of processes/procedures to comply with laws and regulation and ensures coverage policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Incumbent must meet with examiners/auditors and be available to communicate with them as needed throughout the exams.
  • Additional duties include researching selected proposed regulatory issues and recommending Trust company responses.
  • Incumbent communicates new Trust regulatory developments within the company and works to ensure proper compliance.
  • Physical effort for this position varies.
  • Incumbent must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time while completing work using a keyboard for an extended period of time.
  • Some travel is required to all trust offices.
  • Actively participates in the Customer Service First program and supports the values of the organization and follow established policies and procedures.
