Description:
We are searching for a highly analytical applicant who is capable of working full-time and possesses strong negotiation and organizational abilities to join our growing firm as an estate planning attorney. You will create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients and their families and educate them on matters of insurance and powers of attorney. To guarantee that an estate is managed in accordance with the estate owner’s intentions, this role demands a high degree of responsibility. $95,000 - $120,000 yearlyResponsibilities:
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
- Provide clients with information about retirement plans, charitable contributions, and insurance choices
- Discuss plans with clients for distributing clients’ assets
- Confer with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
- Draft and file wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Handle a manageable caseload. You will start with about 50 cases and steadily increase your caseload to full capacity depending on the complexity of your various cases and a healthy work-life balance
- Help meet your client’s goals – you will have autonomy to pursue the best avenues to meet the client’s ultimate needs
- Courtroom exposure – You will appear in Court from time to time; mostly on uncontested matters but a willingness to litigate when needed is essential. Preparation is critical, as is your ability to think on your feet and communicate well is tantamount to your success in this position
- Conduct research and analysis on a diverse array of legal issues
- Craft persuasive motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Collaborate – you will be working directly with the Senior Attorney and our lead paralegals. Organization and the ability to communicate a clear strategy to the client and team on each matter will be vital
Qualifications:
- Great communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years
- Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
- Articulate your thoughts with eloquence and precision, possessing superb written and verbal communication abilities that captivate audiences
- Radiate empathy and build profound connections with clients, colleagues, and legal professionals, forging relationships grounded in trust and understanding
- Embody the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
