Job Title: Tug / Shunter Vehicle Driver

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience not necessary as full training will be provided.
• Experience reversing any type of trailer, farm machinery or prior tug driving would be an advantage

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Willingness to work in a shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as required by depot operations.
• Age requirements: candidates must be over 18 years of age.

• Trailer and Vehicle Movements: Safely operate the tug/shunter vehicle to move trailers around the depot yard, aligning with scheduled loading and unloading activities.
• Loading Dock Coordination: Assist in positioning trailers accurately for loading and unloading, working closely with warehouse operatives to maximise efficiency.
• Inspection and Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift checks on the tug/shunter vehicle, ensuring that it is in proper working condition. Report any faults, damage, or required maintenance immediately to the depot management team.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Depot Yard Organisation: Work with the depot team to maintain an organised yard, ensuring that all trailers are positioned correctly, and that traffic flow is optimised.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with the warehouse, transport team, and depot management to ensure all movements and any operational issues are clearly communicated.
