Description:
Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We are seeking a talented Turbopump Mechanical Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing turbopump systems for cryogenic rocket engines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the turbopump mechanical design from architecture to component design including the maturation needs of these components
- Ensure that detailed mechanical analysis is performed on the turbopump components and assembly, reviewed and meets the required standards for life and reliability targets
- Support design iterations to turbopump assemblies and/or components including manufacturing improvements to reduce cost and lead time of components with the Additive Manufacturing Senior Engineer
- Develop validation / verification tools dedicated to the mechanical design and development of turbopumps
- Iterate turbopump mechanical designs using simulated and real-world test data
