Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Turf Care Supervisor to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and training large and small teams to complete jobs up to our desired standard.
  • Training and operating ride on and walk behind mowers maintaining greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
  • Leading and supervising landscape maintenance/construction projects.
  • Assist in monitoring current golf course conditions including standard of jobs completed, offering friendly feedback to staff members.
  • Take part in weekly departmental meetings providing feedback and new ideas for our operation.
  • Assisting in fertilizing and water management of the golf course.
  • Helping with irrigation jobs
  • Be a role model for all staff members within our department.
  • Cutting new pins, setting tee markers, and ensuring playing surfaces are clean and playable.
  • Maintaining fuel and fluid levels for all equipment types daily, reporting equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
  • Following Occupational Health and Safety Programs and ensuring safe working practice with all job assignments.
  • Ensuring quality and attention to detail exists in all work performed (accurate, thorough, and timely)

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have previous golf course maintenance experience.
  • Strong levels of initiative/ability to confidently make do the spot decisions in the field.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Must have a Driver’s License
  • Lift to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly
  • Ability to work flexible hours, early mornings, weekends, and some holidays (we have a weekend and a stat holiday rotating schedule)
  • Demonstrate professional radio etiquette
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment within your department
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada; we don’t provide working visas.
