Description:
Thomson Reuters is looking for a TV Operations & Support Specialist to join our TV Support Team based in London. The successful candidate will provide systems support of broadcast IT and video production/delivery systems and will be accountable for the service delivery and day-to-day support of dedicated television production capabilities located in London. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated IT professional with expertise in all areas of IT support, installation and development, with experience in Broadcast Television. The role requires a dedicated hands-on and proactive approach to work.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices;
- Working knowledge of a scripting language;
- Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP, subnets, routers, firewalls, etc.;
- Field news coverage technologies;
- Understanding of live studio video production systems;
- Understanding of Newsroom Information and Communication systems;
- Cisco/Microsoft certifications;
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix;
- Experience of system configuration management tools;
- Professional satellite reception infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
As a TV Operations & Support Specialist, you will:
- Perform daily support & monitoring for all appropriate systems;
- Research, design and deployment of technical solutions for multimedia operations;
- Focus on continual service improvement.
- Responsible for updates and patching of systems.
- Expected to follow Change Management process, according to corporate best practices.
- Adhere to IT security best practices.
- Be responsible for implementing both globally driven and locally requested support, operational and project deliverables.
