Description:

Thomson Reuters is looking for a TV Operations & Support Specialist to join our TV Support Team based in London. The successful candidate will provide systems support of broadcast IT and video production/delivery systems and will be accountable for the service delivery and day-to-day support of dedicated television production capabilities located in London. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated IT professional with expertise in all areas of IT support, installation and development, with experience in Broadcast Television. The role requires a dedicated hands-on and proactive approach to work.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices;
  • Working knowledge of a scripting language;
  • Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP, subnets, routers, firewalls, etc.;
  • Field news coverage technologies;
  • Understanding of live studio video production systems;
  • Understanding of Newsroom Information and Communication systems;
  • Cisco/Microsoft certifications;
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix;
  • Experience of system configuration management tools;
  • Professional satellite reception infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

As a TV Operations & Support Specialist, you will:

  • Perform daily support & monitoring for all appropriate systems;
  • Research, design and deployment of technical solutions for multimedia operations;
  • Focus on continual service improvement.
  • Responsible for updates and patching of systems.
  • Expected to follow Change Management process, according to corporate best practices.
  • Adhere to IT security best practices.
  • Be responsible for implementing both globally driven and locally requested support, operational and project deliverables.
