THE ROLE:
Oxfam GB is looking for a new UK Government Relations Adviser to cultivate and hold Oxfam’s relationships with UK parliamentarians, and contribute to Oxfam’s UK political strategy.
This role will be responsible for developing and supporting the delivery of effective influencing of UK Government and Parliament, including maintaining Oxfam’s relationships with key parliamentary targets, and creating innovative opportunities for advocacy and relationship-building with targets.
The role monitors external political developments and produces political analyses across Oxfam issues. It contributes to strategic planning, direction, evaluation and reporting of UK political advocacy across Oxfam’s priorities. This role will be required to be flexible across Oxfam’s issues, but will be focused on delivering the political objectives of our humanitarian context campaigns. This work is currently focused on the crisis in Gaza and root cause issues affecting Palestinians across the occupied territory.
The successful candidate will produce high-quality briefings for parliamentarians and Oxfam senior staff, and support the development of submissions for external inquiries.
Adherence to Oxfam’s principles and values including the promotion of gender justice and anti-racism is essential.
