EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in IT Project Management with a track record of delivering complex IT infrastructure and software projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise in coordinating technical teams (IT staff, developers) and managing relationships with external suppliers and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of technical environments, system upgrades, hardware installations, and network solutions such as SD-WAN.
  • Ability to manage operational impacts while ensuring business continuity during project rollouts.
  • Experience in risk management, particularly around technical dependencies and operational constraints, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across technical and business teams.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Experience working in maritime, travel, or transport sectors is a plus.

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Manager – Lead Delivery Manager
  • Location – Bournemouth/Southampton – Hybrid working model with up to 3 days a week in the office(s).
    We are seeking a highly experienced IT Project Manager to manage and deliver complex technical projects within the organization (e.g. Windows 11 Upgrade). The successful candidate will lead the delivery of multiple IT projects, coordinating internal technical teams, external suppliers, and operational business units to ensure seamless implementation and minimal disruption to ongoing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of IT systems, project management methodologies, and strong communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

ESSENTIAL KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocations, working closely with IT technical staff and external suppliers. Ensure a clear, detailed project approach is in place for each project.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify technical and operational risks. Maintain a comprehensive risk and issue log, and ensure timely escalation and resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with IT technical teams, business/operational departments, and external suppliers to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery. Ensure business operations are considered in all project decisions, especially during critical phases of implementation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across technical, business, and operational teams. Ensure regular and clear communication of project status, risks, and issues.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain all relevant project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, risk/issue logs, and cost forecasts, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites or client locations as required
