Description:
You will develop strategic sourcing strategies, that deliver benefits in working capital improvement, cost reduction, supplier rationalisation, process improvement & cost control.
You’ll ensure the efficient and effective strategic procurement of defined portfolio of raw materials and packaging and build on/develop current & future suppliers relationships and supply strategies in line with Scott Bader strategies to maximise supply security, the contribution to business profitability & cash flow, support business growth and ensure policy compliance.

Responsibilities:
SOME OF YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You’ll develop, implement & maintain global category strategies in line with the evolving strategic plans of the business.
- You will lead the local Procurement engagement with key business stakeholders & associated processes (e.g. R&T; S&OP; Operations etc) to ensure alignment of procurement/category strategies & objectives.
- You’ll negotiate and develop formal supply agreements for your defined portfolio of critical raw materials to deliver supply security at favourable commercial terms for existing and new supply chains enhancing contribution to business profitability, cash flow and business growth.
- You will undertake spend and budget analysis and employ SRM/procurement tools to identify supply-side risks and saving opportunities and agree action plans to enable implementation/delivery and ensure these are captured within site and Group Category plans.
You’ll Lead site formal EHS/QA supplier assessments & audits in accordance with the businesses evolving needs.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?
- You hold well-developed strategic and change management skills with experience of the utilisation of ERP systems, and specifically mainframe MRP & data analysis systems.
- You’re a well-rounded procurement professional with a real drive to deliver on strategic advancements, MCIPS would be a real plus.
- You’ll have previous experience of direct, indirect & Capex procurement best practice.
- You are a whizz at the defining, writing and implementation of category plans and strategies.
We would love you to have previous experience of working within a chemical manufacturing business although this is not essential.
