EDUCATION:
- University studies in one of the following disciplines: Media and Communication, Journalism, or equivalent.
- Meet one of the following:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Be enrolled in a mandatory national service programme of which the internship may form a part;
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within two-years of graduation.
Responsibilities:
The internship will start on 15 January 2025 and end on 14 July 2025.
- Support the implementation of UN Women’s communication strategy through enhanced communication and visibility of UN Women’s work and results, including in particular visibility for core resources, through social media such as X and Linkedin to increase UN Women’s visibility in the Nordic countries, engage in a more dynamic conversation with UN Women’s Nordic partners, potential partners, civil society, as well as increase public awareness on issues related to gender equality and the rights of women and girls;
- Support the drafting of OpEds and other communication for the consumption of national audiences in the Nordic region, with the main aim to enhance visibility for results of the Nordic governments’ investment in gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Support communication efforts and organize outreach activities with private sector and foundations, and set up meetings and events to promote and improve UN Women´s private sector cooperation;
- Assist in the preparation and planning of events taking place during the course of the internship;
- Monitor national media in Nordic countries on issues related to the work and mandate of UN Women and report on relevant media coverage;
- Support in the preparation and coordination of high-level visits of UN Women officials to the region, including drafting of briefing notes and talking points for UN Women officials;
- Participate in, and provide input to, joint advocacy and communication activities with UN sister organizations;
- Host visits and present UN Women to students and other visitors;
- Assist with inquiries from students and the public;
- Any other communication related tasks required.
