ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you looking for an opportunity in student-facing administration?
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers one of the top undergraduate courses globally, with over 700 students at any given time. We are seeking an administrator to join the fast-paced team supporting our taught programme, offering front line support for students and teaching staff alike to enhance the experience of our student cohort. The postholder will be integral to the smooth running of the academic year, forming a close relationship with our teaching staff to deliver efficient exam and assessment, industrial placement, and electronic systems processes and experiences.
Our Undergraduate course consists of two years of core subjects, covering the full breadth of mechanical engineering, followed by two years where students can specialise their modules according to their interests and strengths. We also offer an industrial placement opportunity, making use of connections around the UK and the globe to enhance our students success and ultimate employability. The variety of specialist knowledge is provided by over 60 members of teaching staff, plus a bespoke manual machining workshop.

  • You will support the Industrial Exchange Coordinator in coordinating applications and processing placements.
  • You will be the primary support point for learning resources, including Virtual Learning Environments (VLE’s) and organising Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs).

If you require any further details on the role please contact: Josie Young– j.young@imperial.ac.uk

  • Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
  • Candidates should be aware that due to high workload during term time, opportunities for annual leave may be restricted within these periods
