Description:

SUMMARY

The captain reports to the superintendents and is responsible for all activities relating to high quality services specializing in the application of cementitious products in all these forms and intended for the mining and civil sectors. Furthermore, he participates in the organization of the activities of his department in order to achieve the established objectives. He applies and evaluates his teams’ processes in order to maximize productivity and skills development. He actively participates in the growth of the organization and upholds the mission, vision and values of the company.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • DEC in mining technology or BAC in mining engineering;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the field;
  • Have your explosives license ;
  • Modular mining worker training card, modules; 1,2,3,4,5,7;
  • Fluency in French and English (asset).

Responsibilities:

Security

  • Responsible for identifying the critical elements of the project with his teams of supervisors;
  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance with the activities of the site prevention program;
  • Responsible for monitoring the site in each project to ensure compliance and respect for health and safety, standards, procedures and regulations;
  • Supports supervisors in implementing safe, environmental work methods and practices and maintaining good human relations while maximizing the profitability of the operation;
  • Participates in the production and application of risk analyses.

Project management

  • Ensures that you supervise and direct teams and stakeholders in carrying out projects within planned deadlines and costs (deadlines, labor needs, required equipment, etc.);
  • Ensures that the detailed schedule (calendar, dates, main stages of the project, constraints, working method) is respected;
  • Participates in coordinating projects;
  • Participates in establishing work methods in collaboration with supervisors;
  • Responsible for validating the technical monitoring in place (technical sheets, inspections, etc.);
  • Responsible for resolving problem situations;
  • Responsible for carrying out site monitoring to validate compliance with the contract;
  • All other related tasks.

Expenses management

  • Ensures that results are transmitted by supervisors;
  • In collaboration with his supervisors, he plans materials orders for the site;
  • Ensures that all elements relating to invoicing are given and sent to the people concerned (costs, contingencies, management, complaints, etc.);
  • Be on the lookout and pass on any elements that could lead to a deviation from budgets;
  • Be an ambassador of the 5S method (Remove the unnecessary, locate things, sparkle (clean and tidy), standardized the rules and follow and progress);
  • All other related tasks.

Communication

  • Keeps the various stakeholders informed of changes and new guidelines for a project;
  • Organizes and leads site meetings as needed;
  • Ensures and maintains good relations with administrative office managers;
  • Ensures and maintains good interpersonal relationships with customers;
  • Evaluates and analyzes the performance of work teams on a regular basis;
  • Ensures and maintains good relations with the work teams under his responsibility;
  • All other related tasks.
