JOB DESCRIPTION

Grow with us: Use your surveying skills in the unique environment of Underground gold mining. Work at New Zealand’s largest mining operation, with the flexibility of an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Tasks and Responsibilities will include;

  • Install and maintain survey control points that ensure the highest accuracy for the mine.
  • Complete regular survey pickups/scans of the constructed underground workings
  • Update and maintain the UG mine as-built model.
  • Provide regular asbuilt drawings for the mine, may include cross sections and longitudinal plans.
  • Conduct regular set-out jobs and grade line mark-ups.
  • Install and maintain laser alignment systems for development mining.
  • Issue Mining Instructions for the Jumbo Operators.
  • Setout blast holes for ore extraction and drill holes for Diamond drilling.
  • Complete CMS laser/Lidar surveys of stope blasts.
  • Maintain a high standard of communication between the miners, consultants and OGL staff associated with the underground mine.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and observe all company policies and procedures.

The Underground Mine Surveyor will participate in various projects within the Underground Department, involving the streamlining of spatial data capture and delivery to the broader operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Surveying or Equivalent
  • Current New Zealand Drivers License, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
  • Experience in an underground mine working environment preferred.
