Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Underwriter for our Shared Services Operations Business Real Estate Services (BRES) team within Global Operations. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com .
This role will be responsible for reviewing appraisals and corresponding documentation to confirm and certify the property value on first mortgages and refinances.

In this role you will:

  • Perform appraisal reviews to confirm property value and compliance with Federal and Regulatory policies.
  • Evaluate and decision property values for moderately complex consumer requests.
  • Interact daily with internal and external partners to clarify quality concerns identified during the review process.
  • Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting routine individual consumer requests and products with few deviations and within company and industry guidelines.
  • Review collateral valuations and other supporting documentation to recommend or approve collateral within authority levels with the use of automated scoring systems and traditional underwriting.
  • Ensure credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards.
  • Present recommendations for resolving situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of the Underwriting role.
  • Provide information to team, managers, and customers to related inquiries.

Job Expectations:

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo’s compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • You are Required to attend the full duration of paid training - 8-10 weeks
  • Ability to Obtain required Delegation of Authority within 90-120 days of start date

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST
  • For 2 days a month, you will be required to work a schedule of either 11:00am-8:00pm EST or 11:30am-8:00pm EST
