This individual will work as a member of the Underwriting Support team reporting to the Manager of Underwriting Support. The role will work closely in alliance with the Central Service team, Process Ownership function and others within International business to ensure Underwriter needs are met. The individual provides hands on assistance to the Underwriters within current Line of Business to ensure they can focus on core Underwriting tasks. The individual will also ensure the team provides support to the Central service team to ensure the timely and accurate capture and update of risk information in our core underwriting systems.
Job Responsibilities & Competence
- New business risk analysis and set up to support the Underwriters including submission downloads, pre-modelling requests, clearance checks, review wordings
- Assisting with rating of accounts and RARC calculations by analysis and input of underwriting information
- Supporting Underwriters by quoting of renewal risks
- Work with Underwriters to identify task opportunities that can be absorbed by UA’s to maximise their time spent Underwriting
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Central team for your line of business to share product specific updates and changes
- Attending Underwriting and Client meetings (internally & externally) to help create and maintain existing relationships
- Triaging endorsements and adjustment requests to support Central Service
- Management of E-trading requests (attending meetings and authorising tasks)
- Assisting and contributing with Underwriter Presentations and Business Planning
- Working with the Delegated Authority team with Lineslip and Binder EPI Entry and adjustments
- Provide assistance with independent audit and peer review requests
- Work alongside the Finance team to ensure credit control queries are resolved in the agreed timelines
- Act on exception reports in a timely manner to ensure accurate risk details are maintained on Underwriting Systems
- Support the continuous improvement of processes by identifying opportunities and supporting route cause problem solving activity
- Conduct data analysis and compile reports requested to support underwriters
- Participation in IT enhancements and upgrades for Underwriting systems
- Other ad hoc tasks aligned to International Operations
Experience & Skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle a variety of duties within a timely and accurate manner
- Self-motivated and mature approach, with ability to take initiative to work alone but also work collaboratively and contribute to the culture as part of a small team
- Keen to develop skills through training & further learning
