Description:
The Underwriting team at Manulife is looking for creative, passionate individuals who are obsessed with customer satisfaction to join our world-class underwriting team. The individual life insurance underwriter has the privilege of working with various distribution channels, including national accounts, general agents, and advisors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- You are continuously learning – currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses.
- Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter, at least 5 years of experience.
- Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance
- Be on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine, knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment.
- General awareness of current events, industry issues and trends
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define, research and solve problems.
- Excellent mentoring skills
- Exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
- A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.
