ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role will form part of the Underwriting MI Analytics team working specifically as a dedicated resource with the Financial Risk Solutions team (FRS). This will involve engaging heavily with this area of the business, to facilitate better data and data driven decisions benefitting our FRS underwriting strategy. This will cover requirements gathering, liaising and communicating with FRS Underwriters and analysts, reporting and creating high quality analytics. In addition, the role will progress the service to supply additional insights and trends to add value and information to end users wherever possible. This includes actively seeking new sources of relevant data where applicable, and exploring the potential of machine learning and other advanced capabilities to best support LSM and FRS.
The role will also require management of workload and co-ordination in line with the FRS team’s expectations. This should ensure the FRS team’s MI and analytical needs are met with an emphasis on becoming a trusted business advisor, whilst remaining reactive to requests as they come in. FRS is a global function so there will also be needed to manage stakeholders’ interests from other countries. The role will progress the MI service to supply additional insights and trends to add value and information to end users, including actively seeking new sources of relevant data where applicable to best support LSM and FRS underwriters.
The time spent will be split between developing reports in PowerBI and Alteryx, underpinned by SQL SSMS skills and some excel. Additional onboarding of new Salesforce data and other data streams are required. The remaining time will be spent supporting projects and business initiatives, enhancing data and analysis, ad-hoc tasks and working with the business to ensure the best approach is taken to data and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support FRS underwriting with data and analysis
Act as key contact for MI Department in this field and provide relevant business knowledge
- Collect and understand requirements for new PowerBI reporting and deliver new reports
- Complete complex ad-hoc requests
- Work closely with the supporting service functions to further FRS engagement and solutions
- Promote the use of data and the profile of MI within the FRS team
- Investigating new software/concepts that may assist MI or the FRS team
- Research new data availability that will enrich current data offerings and reports
- Develop LSM culture of data driven decision making through training and education with FRS
- Produce clear and concise reports to analyse business activity
- Manage stakeholders across multiple global offices and ensure communications are maintained.
