About the role:
We have the opportunity for an Underwriting Operations Advisor to join our successful Professional Risks Division.
Located in our city office, the successful candidate will join an experienced operations team to support the underwriting and reporting function.
This role will be key in helping build relationships with cover holders and internal stakeholders, and will fully support and comply with the company’s objectives and standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting Team Support

  • Assisting Operations Manager with system management, enhancements and maintenance.
  • Management and control of System data e.g currency exchange rates, users.
  • Renewal invitation management and associated reporting functions.
  • Management & monitoring of continuous policy renewals and liaison with the finance department and underwriters to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Business process error monitoring.
  • Support of reporting function by assisting Operations Manager with:
  • Production of management reports
  • Production of operational reports
  • Compliance Reporting - SOD, ELTO etc.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc operations activities / project work as required.

Business Development Team Support:

  • Broker onboarding
  • CRM system changes

Binding Authority Support

  • Advise on all matters relating to the processing of risk and premium bordereaux data
  • Work with cover holders and our finance team to resolve queries.
  • Keep in regular contact and update underwriters and cover holders.
  • Assist with reporting on Excel and delivering information to relevant stakeholders.

Skills And Competencies Required:

  • Experience of working within an underwriting operations role (ideally 5+ years)
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables)
  • Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills – e.g: Microsoft
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent administration, planning and organisational skills, including excellent time keeping
  • Customer Service oriented – both to external clients and colleagues
  • Conscientious and motivated person
  • Experience working autonomously
  • Experience collaboratively with a team

Skills And Competencies Preferred:

  • Experience in insurance and binder management
