Since 2005, Leuphana has held the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development. The Leuphana UNESCO Chair conducts intervention research and capacity building to institutionalize sustainability as a guiding principle for the (re)design of higher education institutions. In doing so, the UNESCO Chair aims to support higher education institutions in becoming change agents for safe and just sustainability transformations. Through intercultural dialogue and international collaboration, the Chair aims to strengthen local action in global responsibility.
A key strategic priority for the next phase of the Chair’s work is to strengthen student engagement in the work of the Chair, acknowledging that students are the largest group of stakeholders within the university. To work towards this goal, the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development at Leuphana University Lüneburg is looking to fill the position of a

• Represent the Leuphana UNESCO Chair at events
• Communicate perspectives, interests and activities of Leuphana students to the Chair team, and vice versa
• Consult the UNESCO Chair team in strategic planning
• Initiate and implement activities that support the mission of the UNESCO Chair
