We are seeking a Unit Manger to join our dynamic team in the Recovery Alberta, Child & Adolescent Tertiary Mental Health Programs operating at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (Unit’s 301, 302 and the Transitional Youth Classroom). This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
The Unit Manager will ensure that teams deliver efficient, effective, and high-quality services to children, youth and families presenting with mental health and addiction concerns. In this role you will be a clinical leader, mentor and advocate, supporting staff and working with physicians in providing high quality patient-centered care. In collaboration with the Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading change management and quality improvement, promoting team development, and coordinating and managing staffing and clinical services. You will also be responsible for clinical supervision, recruitment, budget management, and appraisals for staff. The Unit Manager will maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners across the continuum of care, working closely with all stakeholders including team members; children, youth, and families; physicians; Child & Family Services; and other child and family serving agencies. Services are provided along a continuum of care and it is important that the Unit Manager establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with other program to support care transitions. To be successful in this role, a working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is required, as is an ability to deal effectively with performance issues. With this role, coverage for other operational areas is a requirement.
