Job Description Summary
The Administrative Manager of Human Resources reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration and manages all facets of human resources for the College of Dental Medicine. The Administrative Manager provides subject matter expertise on all aspects of Human Resources to the Dean, Chairs, other leaders, Faculty and Staff. Additionally, provides expertise in regard to MUSC University human resources policies and oversees all human resources to include but not limited to procedures, recruitment, on-boarding/orientation, compliance and employee development for the College of Dental Medicine. This position implements and maintains best practices and processes to support the College of Dental Medicine and strategizes with the Senior Director and Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration to resolve human resource related issues. This position is a member of the Finance and Administration leadership team and serves as the liaison with University Human Resources to ensure continuity of policy interpretation and timely procedure implementation. The position includes being the liaison for staff and faculty groups such as the Staff Leadership Council and other projects that requires feedback from Staff and Faculty.
JOB DESCRIPTION
30% - Manages the personnel actions to include but not limited to: hiring, termination, employee relations and payroll. Coordinates all personnel functions to include employee action requests such as FMLA and worker compensation requests, posting recruitment positions, and salary changes. Oversees the tracking of all College budgeted positions and provides monthly reports to leadership on status of all positions. Provides assistance with yearly budget process as it relates to position budgeting. Completes in-depth review of all position description evaluations, provides salary analysis for all faculty and staff hiring as well as additional duty requests. - (Essential)
25% - Serves as the employee relations contact for college leaders, faculty, staff, and supervisors. Advises College leaders and employees on conflict resolution and ensures adherence to all institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Reviews and updates College policies, processes and procedures on at least a yearly basis or as appropriate. Assists managers in understanding and implementing policies related to performance, discipline, and other related topics. - (Essential)
20% - Oversees hiring, recruitment, onboarding and exit process for all College Staff. Ensures departments within college train all faculty and staff on timekeeping and leave reporting requirements. Provides onboarding for all staff and ensures training plan is in place and monitored for all new hires following the principles of MUSC Excellence. With the help of central HR and other support areas, runs quarterly training for staff members to include conflict resolution, time keeping, leave reporting, and other trainings that create a positive and collaborative work environment including but not limited to helping clinic staff with trainings. Completes exit interviews with all staff employees before last day of work and provides feedback quarterly. - (Essential)
15% - Manages the employee performance evaluation system. Serves as an advisor and reviewer of employee evaluations to ensure compliance with Institutional and College policies. Coordinates with College Leadership to develop strategic staffing projections, incorporating the College’s strategic plan, finances, and projected growth. Coordinates all employee recognition and engagement programs across the College. The position includes being the liaison for staff and faculty groups such as the Staff Leadership Council and other projects that requires feedback from Staff and Faculty. Assists the Director of the Dean’s Office and Strategic Initiatives with the vetting of required employee reports for Press Ganey. - (Essential)
5% - Collaborates with Administrative Manager of Faculty in the Dean’s office on faculty onboarding process to include all required documentation for faculty appointments and resource needs. - (Essential)
