JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Full-time tenure track faculty position in the College of Nursing for a junior health sciences researcher who wishes to develop into an independent, externally funded investigator where external funding is broadly relevant to optimizing health and advancing health equity. The successful candidate will have a focused program of research, preferably supported by some grant funding history, as well as some academic experience in teaching and service. The candidate is expected to contribute to our major multi-disciplinary research focus in the College and across campus in areas such as behavioral health, palliative care, serious illnesses, rural health outcomes, and health promotion and prevention research. Teaching responsibilities will build towards an area of expertise and will include courses at the graduate level, curriculum/program planning, facilitating and implementing innovative teaching strategies, mentorship of doctoral students, and scholarship. There will be minimal teaching requirements in years one and two.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Minimum Training and Education: Qualifications include an earned PhD in Nursing or a related health field. The completion of post-doctoral work is preferred. Candidates should possess a proposed area of scholarship at the time of appointment. Candidates should be eligible for licensure in their field of study by the State of South Carolina.
