JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, is actively recruiting for a Senior Research Associate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Master degree in clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, or related field and three years of related experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities:
- 25% - Developing and maintaining a knowledge base to be used by specialized clinical decision support tool of family history and risk factors for cancer (http://ask2me.org/) and its replacement software
- 25% - Using a natural language processing tool to extract information from medical literature, analyze relevant studies, select the studies with the best quality, extract cancer risk data from these studies, convert them into cancer risk curves that are easy for physicians and patients to understand and update the clinical decision support tool accordingly
- 25% - Assisting the principal investigator in conceptualizing research projects, performing relevant analysis, summarizing research findings, preparing manuscript drafts, and publishing them in academic conferences and journals
- 15% - Implementing a variant harmonization tool to identify and harmonize the discordant variant classifications and verifying the disease spectrum of cancer susceptibility genes using an innovative assessment method
- 10% - Collaborating with our research collaborators at MIT, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Northeastern University and Clemson
