Develops, coordinates, supports and promotes the YWCA Hamilton Uplift Program, which provides women and non-binary people with the opportunity to reskill or upskill in EV, Data Science or Data Analytics through certification training and additional supports related to navigating non-traditional workplaces and job development.
- Plans and implements technical training in sector specific training workshops including academic upgrading, safety certification, and hands-on and virtual training towards certification in conjunction with training partners;
- Facilitates outreach, intake and recruitment for reskilling training programs and support participants through the Reskilling Program in consultation with Project Lead;
- Promotes and markets the Reskilling Program, working with the YWCA Development department;
- Works with Training Partner(s) to plan for pre-certification training;
- Coordinates and completes curriculum development, facilitation and program delivery;
- Working with the Program Job Developer, assists participants in the setting and attaining of goals and provides coaching in both group and individual settings;
- Coordinates with Program Job Developer to identify and support participants in future employment opportunities;
- Reviews and evaluates results and recommendations from participants and stakeholders; shares program outcomes with Project Lead and stakeholders;
- Ensures that policies and procedures are up to date, and that best practices are incorporated at all times;
- Develops and implements appropriate systems to ensure monitoring of projects and initiatives in compliance with work schedules, outcomes and participant requirements;
- Connects and assists in building strong and positive relationships with participants in a cohesive and respectful environment; engagement and follow up with participants of the program;
- Nurtures and maintains relationships with partners, employers and volunteers;
- Follows Ministry guidelines and requirements for funding and increases participant’s knowledge and training in order to gain or maintain employment;
- Works with limited pieces of client/participant’s confidential data and ensures that such data is stored in accordance with YWCA and funder policies;
- Maintains accurate records, statistics and evaluation information related to the activities undertaken and outcomes achieved; reporting results to Project lead;
- Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
- Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have an undergraduate degree, preferable in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Education or in a related field or a combination of related work and academic experience;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in advanced manufacturing, specialized technology, education or social services fields;
- Career Development Practitioner (CDP) or Job Development Professional (JDP) is an asset;
- Must provide a current Criminal Record Judicial Matters Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR C certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Must be able to work from a feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive perspective;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
