Description:

The US Compliance Manager is Nielsen’s subject matter expert in the areas of HR compliance, external and internal diversity workforce metrics, affirmative action planning and US Policies. We’re looking for someone with great organization and project management skills, the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced, team environment. Responsible for the development and administration of US Policies as well as Compliance with all government employment regulations, and our affirmative action program. This position interfaces with employees, government agencies and consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR compliance or legal field.
  • 4+ years of experience in gathering data and producing
  • Compliance data, reports and documents, including Affirmative Action Plans (AAP’s), responses to OFCCP Audits
  • 3+ years working knowledge of US Employment Law including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, etc…

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years HR experience and 4+ years of HR compliance experience.
  • Experience directly interacting with DOL/OFCCP and EEOC compliance officers and responding to audits.
  • In–depth knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Strong analytical skills, producing metrics & analytical reporting.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with SAP helpful.
  • Unquestionable ethics and excellent judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality and act in a critical position of trust within the company.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally in the US and internationally.

    A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $50,000-$185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee’s geographic location. Responsibilities:

  • Manage Nielsen’s US Affirmative Action Program including preparation of annual Affirmative Action Plans, compliance, monitoring, and associated activities.
  • Oversee Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) or Department of Labor (DOL) audits.
  • Manage the EEO-1 and Vets-4212 reporting process.
  • Ensure audit-ready I-9 and E-verify process.
  • Actively partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners and to ensure hiring and employment processes meet compliance standards, including targeted outreach to Veterans, minorities, women and people with disabilities.
  • Support HR teams (Global HRBPs and local enterprise HRBP teams) to balance compliance burden and business needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate US compliance developments and take actions to implement proactive risk mitigation plans and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Build positive relationships and partner with various stakeholders in the business to drive cross-functional compliance initiatives while anticipating and meeting evolving business needs.
  • Partner with Compensation, Benefits and Payroll on paid sick leave laws, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, wage & hour compliance.
  • Provide consultation and training on regulatory changes, compliance requirements, policies changes.
  • Manage US Policy Library ensuring they are revised and updated on a timely basis.
  • Draft and revise US HR policies as necessary to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational strategies and goals.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on reviewing background checks.
  • Advise Enterprise Platforms to ensure systems and processes support compliance and data is accessible in case of an audit or legal challenge. (I-9s, applicant tracking, promotion & termination data)
  • Actively partner with DEI to provide consultation on workforce goals and planning, and regulatory perspective on diversity goals and obligations.
  • Partner with Enterprise HRBPs on serious ER matters involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliations policy and other alleged compliance violations.
  • Assess, pull, and share workplace investigation data to run reports/charts/graphs, identify risk and gaps and provide pragmatic, sustainable solutions.
  • Provide targeted content and training material.
  • Propose proactive measures and share best practices to educate stakeholders and mitigate risk.
  • Other duties as assigned.
