CLOUD MODERNIZATION ARCHITECT-SPM
Help create new life for legacy information technology systems.
The Deloitte Application Modernization Team - specialists in converting legacy information technology systems to modern languages - is currently seeking Architects modernizing legacy mainframe platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the hottest areas in the market.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent working experience
- Minimum of 10 years working as a software engineer or architect modernizing mainframe technologies such as Cobol, DB2, IMS, VSAM, JCL, etc.
- At least 2 years experience with Pega
- At least 5 years working with Cloud Service Providers like AWS, Azure or GCP
- Must have minimum of 5 years working on and having a leadership role supporting legacy modernization initiatives.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:
- 7 years of using object-oriented design principles and software architectures
- 2+ years working with data structures and algorithms.
2+ year(s) of Unit testing and Test-Driven Development4+ years use of software build tools such as Ant or Maven
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $152,000 to $310,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

Responsibilities:
- Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
- Engagement Management: Participate in engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
- Delivery: Manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Responsibilities include, among others, managing teams in the identification of migration approaches, migration plans, tools, timeline and execution.
- Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop “thoughtware” and “point-of-view” documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
- People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices
- Work with cloud engineering teams to design and modernize legacy platforms to AWS or Azure platforms
