We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant based in Phoenix, AZ, Hybrid postion. Working in a hybrid role, you will be part of our finance team and will play a crucial role in cost and management accounting, financial reporting and analysis, month-end financial closing, and audit.

• Manage inventory, including physical to perpetual to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, audit explanations, and standard costs.
• Conduct preparation and execution of annual standard cost roll.
• Oversee the preparation of annual labor and overhead rates.
• Handle processes involving establishment of standard costs of new parts, and review and analysis of standard costs for existing parts.
• Prepare and analyze warranty costs and reserves.
• Analyze the purchase price variance general ledger account.
• Conduct audits of cycle count activity and provide support to the materials group in root causes and corrective actions.
• Provide cost support to cross-functional areas as requested.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of product cost data.
• Perform general accounting duties such as preparing account reconciliations and performing monthly closing activities including preparation of journal entries.
• Assist in SOX compliance audits, internal, and external audits.
• Ensure SAP system integrity and accuracy of general ledger and cost accounting data.
• Develop financial reporting utilizing the financial systems (HFM, One Stream, SAP).
• Provide support for bids on new contracts.
• Manage cost accounting requirements in support of sales & marketing and customer service sales quotation process.
• Proven experience in a Senior Cost Accountant role or similar
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Expertise in financial reporting and preparing financial notes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial planning software
• Familiarity with auditing, external audit processes and reconciliations
• Demonstrated skills in budget processes, materials handling, and contract review
• Strong customer service and sales abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in marketing and training activities
• Ability to conduct research and implement planning strategies
• Strong understanding of finance, account reconciliation, and journal entries
• Proficiency in workstation support and engineering
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
