NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

  • Demonstrable experience in a Telecommunications/Utilities company GIS/cable location environment.
  • Experience with GPR cable/pipe location
  • NZQA L3 Telecommunications qualifications, or similar, or minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s license
  • Good understanding of utility network architecture
  • A willingness to learn and develop basic survey and Arc GIS skills
  • Self-starter with an eye for detail and planning your work effectivelyGreat communication skills

Responsibilities:

Due to growth and opportunities to further expand our business, we currently have an opening in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato region for an experienced Underground Locator Technician to join our great team. You will work with the latest technology supporting our customers locating utilities, mapping underground utilities, interpreting plans, and managing customer relationships.

The role will be focused on planning, delivery, and documentation of mapping services. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To work within the parameters relevant to the work, e.g. time, materials, costs, resources.
  • To ensure a positive relationship with customers.
  • To work within, and assist with, risk and event management and mitigation guidelines.
  • To provide technical support, where appropriate.
  • To assist in service/delivery improvements where requested.Champion USL Utility Mapping services with the wider USL team.
