Utility Locators (Full Training Provided)

The Utility Locator plays an integral role in marking underground utilities and meeting our high-quality standards. They will conduct locating services for residential and commercial customers within a specified geographical area.

The training for this position will involve a combination of online training (via Microsoft Teams) and some in-field training with an experienced team member.

THE STARTING WAGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $20.00/HOUR, HOWEVER THERE IS OPPORTUNITY TO EARN MORE PER HOUR ONCE THE LOCATOR BECOMES MORE EXPERIENCED AND PROFICIENT WITH THEIR WORK AND ASSIGNED PIECE RATE WORK.

The training class for this opportunity will start around February 18th, 2025.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and able to provide a good driver’s abstract
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and independently
• Previous experience locating utilities an asset
• Previous construction/landscaping/surveying experience an asset
• Previous experience reading blueprints an asset
• Confined Space Entry training an asset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills with the ability to interact with clients, colleagues and the public
• Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to distinguish colours for marked utilities
