SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Utility Operator is responsible for the operations of equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner on a Civil Construction worksite according to the scope of the project and the work being performed. The operator will also keep clean and maintain the equipment and comply with all policies and procedures in the operation and securement of the equipment.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Retention of a valid class five (5) driver’s license and clean three (3) year drivers abstract is required
  • At least 2+ years of verifiable experience in an equipment operating role in a Civil Construction, Earthworks, or Utility environment.
  • Must be able to operate: Truck (777), Wiggle Wagons, Excavators (470 - 870), Dozer (D6- D10), Grader (16M)
  • CSO or BSO or OSSA is required.
  • Ability to speak, write and read English is required
  • College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
    This is a full time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB on Syncrude site.
    Shift schedule: 6 on, 6 off, days and nights are required; 12 hour shifts
    NOTE: Flights and Camp accommodation are NOT provided.
