About our Team: We are seeking a talented and creative UX Designer to join the UK Ascend design team; taking a supporting role in helping us achieve our vision of aligning our products under one shared identity. ‘One Cirium’.
About the Role: You will play a significant role to the team. It is an active, hands-on role, requiring dynamic communication skills and will to grow and keep learning within the role.
You will help to define the UX/UI of Cirium products. Suggesting new design patterns, working within pre-existing processes, or collaborating in creating new business-focused frameworks.
You will need to have a good understanding of UX best practice. A willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in the digital world. Embrace a holistic view of the Design process. This will help Cirium teams to better understand user behaviours, needs and motivations, and how to apply those findings to Cirium products.
You will apply these skills to a growing internal design system. Be a procative member of our UX community, collaborating primarily with our UK squads as well as designers and developers in the US and India.
Responsibilities
- Following a User-Centred research process. Practices and learns research techniques. Assists in developing product / feature concepts following UCD practices
- Working with product and design leadership to define the layout, content, structure and visual identity of products.
- Running small-medium research workshops, to investigate new, or existing, products’ ideas. Creates research documentation and analysis outputs
- Iterating and delivers original design assets, clearly articulating design rationale for product or feature concepts / components. Using tools such as wireframes, prototypes, and process flow diagrams.
- Working with existing design patterns and style guides, occasionally introducing new patterns.
- Practicing self development, proactively communicating, training and tracking personal objectives with management
Requirements
- Experience in working with the tools and processes that deliver design systems e.g. design tokens, atomic design, Storybook and Zeroheight
- Use of visual design and prototyping tools to an intermediate and advanced level. Primarily Figma and Axure are used at Cirium
- Experience in working with UX methodologies to understand and explain the customer view (e.g. Personas, Journey Maps, Task analysis). Is familiar with and can use customer frameworks (e.g. Jobs To Be Done, personas).
- Demonstrate experience in exploring data from analytics packages, customer insight or other sources to understand context of research work
- Be a proactive and effective communicator, looking to continuously collaborate, share insights and advocate for the team
- Demonstrate experience working in end to end project teams. Being skilled and adaptable to shift focus between research and design as projects require
