Capco is looking for Senior UX designer/researcher with experience in the financial industry or government ministry sector to join our Innovation & Design practice. Any applicants must have extensive UX design and research research experience reflected in their portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years experience in applied user experience design and design research
- Ability to lead and mentor junior/intermediate UI resources to ensure work is consistent, usable and on time.
- Strong online portfolio demonstrating a range of relevant work is essential.
- Experience in an agile team environment is a benefit.
- Proficient with industry standard tools (e.g. e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
- Strong communications skills to clearly articulate - and evangelize - solutions
- Solid understanding of user experience design principles.
- Strong organizational skills used to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with creating interactive prototypes based on user flows.
- A creative imagination coupled with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply usability & experience best practices to design and map out framework of applications, backed with findings through design research & ensuring that user centred design principles are being applied appropriately to create innovative solutions that meet user and business needs.
- An understanding of accessible design (A, AA, AAA standards) is a benefit.
- Expertise in more than one of the following research methods, and familiarity with all: usability testing, contextual inquiry, survey design, focus groups, card sorting, participatory design, and ethnographic methods, etc.
- The ability to support a project from start to finish
- Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
- The ability to think strategically and connect design thinking back to specific business use cases
- Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with the ability to be a thought partner/coach to clients and internal team

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the UX Designer/Researcher, you will work hand-in-hand with technologists and analysts at Capco and our clients to create wireframes to map out framework of applications and create experiences that are competitive and user-friendly. When required, you will plan, conduct, and interpret primary and secondary design research to inform the design direction of products, services, and experiences to ensure that user centred design principles are being applied. We collaborate constantly to share learnings and brainstorm solutions. You will also educate clients on the value of UX design and design research, and balance rigor with speed when delivering work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with clients and the Innovation & Design team to improve the user experience for customers and employees
- Collaborate with specialists across different teams to deliver the best solutions for our clients.
- Brainstorm solutions to tough client problems, speaking up and sharing your knowledge
- Collaborate on and influence the different stages of a digital product—this includes shaping deliverable scope, contributing to internal and external strategy, designing the digital experience and conducting research if needed
- Work closely with product and business teams, as well as other designers and researchers, to identify important experience design decisions
- Plan and facilitate collaborative workshops and work sessions with internal and external teams
- Design and execute studies that address both user behavior and attitudes, using the right methodology for the right questions as needed
