Description:
SGGG Fund Services Inc. (SGGG-FSI) is currently seeking to fill a full-time 6 month contract position for the role of UX UI Graphic Designer. There is a possibility of extension or permanent hire after the contract concludes. The successful candidate joining our existing software development team will be energetic, enthusiastic, reliable, and will have the opportunity to contribute to an effort in the development of financial services industry leading software.
Under the direction of the Software Development Manager, the UX UI Graphic Designer is responsible for the development and collaborative implementation of UX and Graphic Design features, for our system that is developed exclusively in-house. The role will also be responsible for the delivery of applications which meet the needs of users, in a timely and effective manner. You will work with developers, business analysts and end-users of the system to define requirements and deliverables. This represents a unique opportunity to be part of an established agile software development team that develops and implements new cutting-edge applications.
Core Responsibilities
- Understand client requirements and user needs and translate them into user-friendly and visually appealing designs
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and style guides for web and mobile applications
- Design graphics, logos, icons, illustrations, and other visual elements for branding and marketing purposes
- Work closely with developers to ensure design consistency and quality across platforms and devices
- Develop a professional and productive relationship with SGGG-FSI staff
- Keep management informed of any and all issues that could have a Customer impact
- Work to continually improve the processes associated with your assigned functions
Qualifications
Technical
- Proven experience as a UX and Graphic Designer or similar role
- Portfolio of UX and graphic design projects for web and mobile applications
- Proficiency in design software and tools, such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus
- Familiarity with UX design methodologies, principles, and processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field
Work Experience
- 5-7 years of overall UX & Graphic Design experience.
- Knowledge of the investment fund industry systems, operations, technical and business processes (an asset, but not required)
Education
- University Degree or College Diploma in Design, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience in the field)
- Preference will be given to applicants with relevant certificates and training in UX & Graphic Design
- Preference will be given to applicants with current training and skill-sets
- Completion of all or some of the CFA, CSC or other related designations is a plus

- Ability to work with minimal supervision to prioritize and manage work
- Ability to work as an effective member of a tea
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communications
