About the role
The Learning Support Team Coordinator is pivotal to the update and continual Mandatory Training compliance for our Volunteers, providing relief for Corps Officers/Frontline Staff so they can focus their attention on their Missional objectives whilst ensuring a well trained frontline. The coordinator is responsible for establishing, training and managing a team of volunteers who provide support through a variety of administrative activities and tasks designed to increase volunteer engagement and mandatory training uptake within the Division. The team will be responsible for data sourcing, entry, and reporting, preparing spreadsheets, initiating calls and emails with volunteers, as well as assistance with training and event management.
This role is ideal for someone who has strong team leadership and training capabilities, enjoys developing and managing systems to ensure quality improvement, as well as supporting a team to achieve great outcomes for the community. The Learning Support Team are highly valued members of the Division as they ensure that our largest workforce, our volunteers are compliant and are well equipped to safely deliver programs within a Corps setting.

Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Learning Support Team. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and compassion. Set clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for team members and provide ongoing mentorship and guidance.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans, goals, and objectives for volunteer learning and development initiatives with TSA SA/NT
- Partnership and Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including Corps Officers, Managers and Administrator of Volunteers as well as Program Managers to partner together to address emerging needs and challenges in the delivery and completion of required learning units.
- Training Delivery and Facilitation: Oversee the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and learning activities for TSA SA/NT volunteers. Provide support and guidance to trainers and facilitators to ensure the delivery of high-quality training experiences.
- Resource Management: Manage the allocation and utilization of resources, tools, and technology to support volunteer training efforts, this may include coaching in access to online training platforms. Ensure that volunteers have access to the necessary learning resources, materials, and support services to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Performance Evaluation and Measurement: Establish mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of volunteer training programs in the social welfare sector. Collect and analyse data on learning outcomes, volunteer performance, and program metrics. Use insights gained to evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous learning and development.
Qualifications and skills (desired/required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient at developing and managing a team of volunteers.
- High degree of knowledge of Microsoft Suite, excellent customer service skills and patience.
- Flexibility and understanding when working with a diverse group of people.
- Understanding of adult learning principles
- Experience with running/facilitating training, desirable
