Job Description
We are now looking for a Value Manager at any of the Vattenfall IT locations in Sweden, Germany, Poland or the Netherlands.
The position is within the Project and Portfolio Management team, whose mission is to provide effective approaches, tools and support to organize, execute, and assess value creation of all IT-related investments within Vattenfall.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead and coordinate Assurance and Investment Reviews at portfolio and project levels (Value Assurance Review, Investment Assessments, Post Investment Review)
- Own our Value management tools (excel and powerpoint templates, sharepoint pages, powerpoint and PowerBI reports), keeping them updated, user-friendly and fit-for-purpose (LEAN)
- Align with Value Owners (Sponsors, Product Owners, Project Portfolio Owners) to assess their initiatives and recommend improvements on project and portfolio levels
- Understand the traditional KPI of investment assessments (IRR, NPV, ROI,…) and discuss new ones connected to benefits realization, digitalization and sustainability
- Contribute to building IT own roadmap and integrate Business priorities and Must Win initiatives
- Produce a yearly report summarizing the findings of Assurance reviews, suggesting improvements and priorities of Value Management for the next 2-5 years
- Upon request from higher management, dedicate some of your time to specific support on strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with the other PPM team members to keep connecting our stakeholders to the “Big Picture”, adapting our tools and ways of working to incorporate value management
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you need to have thorough expertise building and reviewing business cases and product visions/backlogs through all milestones of an initiative, from startup to final investment decision and posterior benefits realization. You will need to master our value management processes and constantly improve them, tailoring them to our various project types and methodologies (our portfolio is 25% agile and 75% waterfall). You are comfortable navigating a large organization and interact with specialist profiles as well as various Business Areas. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and being involved in strategic thinking as well as performing analysis work to suggest improvements towards management.
