Description:

About NordSpace
NordSpace (https://nordspace.com) is a Canadian startup with the mission to advance life on Earth, from space. NordSpace is committed to extremely rapid innovation and development of only the most ambitious aerospace projects with only the most ambitious team Canada has to offer. With divisions spanning everything from rockets to satellites, NordSpace is driven to bring space closer to Earth and inspire generations of space explorers.
The Valve and Fluid Systems Design Engineer will be the one to lead NordSpace’s efforts to optimize how propellents for our launch vehicles flow through our systems reliably, including cryogenics. Fluid control systems are often the most challenging to design for launch vehicles to be lightweight, low-cost, compact, survive extreme temperatures and pressures, and absolutely reliable all at the same time. Designing our own in-house fluid control systems is a goal for NordSpace to streamline our ability to vertically integrate our operations and test more often. If the thought of building everything from robots to rockets excites you, try pairing that with the idea that you will have the freedom to build NordSpace’s first rocket factory with all the gadgets and machines you could ever dream of.

Qualifications
2+ years of experience in design, testing and manufacturing of fluid flow control systems
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field
Significant experience designing and building fluid flow control systems, ideally with a portfolio of personal projects, and demonstrated CAD/CFD experience
Significant experience with fabricating mechanical systems with machining tools
Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research
Excellent English communication skills
Excellent project management skills
This is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markha
