Please note: This is a temporary seasonal position ending on or before March 31, 2025, with a possibility of extension.
Reporting directly to the Recreation Facilities Coordinator, the Varsity Facility Lead for Gymnasium and Arena will play a key role in the operational management and supervision of our Athletic & Rec Facilities during the varsity season and varsity events. This position will be required during evening and weekend hours, providing support in the NAIT Gymnasium and Arena to ensure the smooth functioning and safety of the facilities. You will contribute to the success of varsity sports teams, coaches, student-athletes, and spectators by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and customer service.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Leadership skills
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Successful candidates will have the ability to assess and problem-solve in complex situations through effective listening, consultation, and critical thinking skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a must to support facility operations and varsity events.
Understanding of facility management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of grade 12 or equivalent combination of education & experience
Previous experience in facility management, preferably in a sport or recreational environment
CPR Level C & AED Certifications
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Safe Spaces or EDI training is an asset
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $19.02 - $24.74 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay. (Classification - Administrative Support II).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
