Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Vascular Access Team (VAT) based at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) The post holder will be working within a team of specialist nurses. The role will be varied and the successful candidate will care for both inpatients and outpatients who require the insertion and management of invasive devices such as PICC lines, Midlines and Cannulas. You will also be expected to provide expert advice on the care and maintenance of all PVCs and central lines. There will be an element of ward-based auditing, education and support across the whole organisation which means you will be encountering a variety of different specialities, staff members and patients.
So, the successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously but also as part of the team which will include the VAT as well as those across the wider Trust. If you decide to join our team you will work alongside caring and inclusive individuals who will ensure you have all the support you need to settle in and develop the skills you need to be able to perform this role to the best of your ability. Although this role covers the whole Trust you will be part of the Surgery and Outpatients Division, and therefore will also be able to draw on the wider team for advice and guidance as well as access any in house training that may support your development
