Responsibilities
SUMMARY: This position requires the technologist to be creative and responsible for providing excellence in clinical care as well as providing quality radiographs for the provider to make a diagnosis. The technologist must work efficiently and professionally, as he/she is a representative of the Department to provide services for other departments and referring physicians. The incumbent will need to work independently the majority of the time, with limited to no supervision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program.
  • RVT certified or eligible. Must obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
  • ARDMS Certified or eligible.
  • Must have excellent communications skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of experience in the field of vascular sonography is preferred, however not required.
  • ARDMS Certified in abdomen

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Ultrasound imaging procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative.
  • Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required.
  • Transfers and positions, provides immobilization devices, as required, to produce diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Selects and operates equipment as directed.
  • Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards (where applicable).
  • Responsible for reporting all ultrasound findings
  • Performs QA to images and facilitate in the delivery of the images to the PACS System for dictation.
  • Practice sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination during invasive procedures.
  • Responsible for delegating areas of authority in the performance of procedures.
  • May be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of sonography and ancillary personnel.
  • Assist in performing first aid.
  • Conduct periodic quality control tests.
  • Participate or conduct research in required specialty.
  • Maintain adequate records as directed.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness.
  • Secures and returns supplies.
  • Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.
  • Maintains ethical relationships.
  • Adheres to all departmental rules and regulations.
  • May be required to assist in the development of technical factors.
  • May assist in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures, not routinely taught.
  • Participate in in-service programs.
  • Participate in Right-to-know, compliance training, HIPPA training.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Will be required to travel to multiple office locations when necessary
